First days of August, and the almond trees are flowering. Spring will be with us soon
Following a weekend of steady rain over the 2st to 23rd June, Ippinitchie Creek, which passes through Taralee, began flowing strongly. We spent some time on Sunday walking around the property, and looking at all that water!
At the Flinders Ranges & Outback Tourism Awards, announced on 15th June, the Wirrabara Producers Market won the Category for ‘Excellence in Food & Beverage Tourism’. An excellent result for the Market.
Two of our WWOOFers hard at work making jam from our fruit, for our Producer Market Stall. Our jams and dried fruits are also available from the Wirrabara Craft House, Joes Corner at Melrose, Laura Information Centre, Creative Treasures, and the Discovery Centre in Gladstone
At the Wirrabara Producers Market this coming Sunday, May 19th, there will be the annual Pumpkin Competition.
Categories include – Biggest Pumpkin, Best Pumpkin, Most Innovative Use of a Pumpkin, and Best Pumpkin Recipe.
Judging at 10.00am First and Second prizes awarded.
